To Market

February 24, 2009 by dailygnome 1 Comment

One of the things I love about downtown Roanoke is the outdoor city market. Open daily, it’s been in operation since 1882 offering fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, art and jewelry by local artisans.

No waiting for spring or Saturday to arrive. It’s a Farmers Market every day. We went the morning I left and bought some dried apples, homemade horseradish and a heavenly snickerdoodle cookie (originally intended for Carson, but it was a long plane ride and it disappeared somewhere over Wyoming).

He really liked the dried apples.

What a lovely story and … oh poor Carson!
I love markets, you never know what you can find…we have lots of them here in Antalya (turkey). I think I shall write about them in my blog one day, thanks for the idea!
