A week relaxing in Sonoma county with Jason’s family. Catching up, babies galore, family dinners, picnics, girls’ afternoon of shopping and pedicures, and of course wine tasting. First official family road trip a success {minus that one carsick episode in Humboldt County}. Windy roads and DVDs do not mix.
Grab some popcorn and prepare yourself for the photo recap:
We caravaned down with Nate & Amanda, spending the night in Ashland with good friends. We hit the Farmer’s Market in the morning followed by brunch at the most amazing breakfast spot {thanks Jameela – nice to have a local tour guide}. Super excited to discover they have a sister restaurant in Portland. On my list.
Frolicking in the sun at Lithia Park | Ashland
Babies, bubbles and soaking up the sun {not too warm, but this year I’ll take what I can get!}
Chilling with the Peanuts Gang at the Charles Schulz Museum:
Tossing the ball around before cocktail hour:
Grass angels:
With months of rain in Portland, spreading a blanket on dry grass for picnics was a treat:
We threw a “cousins birthday party” one afternoon, including a special song for each and cupcakes from Sift, the Cupcake Wars winner {good find Amanda and Julie!}
Wrangling all five cousins for a photo opp:
That silly Uncle Aaron;
Walking with the girls:
Kid-free afternoon of wine tasting!
Stocking the cellar at Porter Creek;
Though good sports, Jason’s family did not share my enthusiasm for evenings of charades. We settled for rounds of Celebrity Bowl and Apples to Apples instead. Needless to say, we’ll save the Family Fun Nights for my family’s gatherings:
And what road trip would be complete without hitting a roadside attraction. Behold the Chandelier Tree:
Will you explain the pic with the Charlie Brown mural? Is that in someone's house? What room? It's such a great idea!
Hey MJ- That was taken at the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa. The place was incredible.
