We’re off on an adventure. Looking forward to spending time with Hadley and Carson’s east coast grandparents for a week at their new place in Florida. It was due to be a sunny and warm adventure, an escape from these dreary January days in the Northwest, but thanks to a cold front (coldest temperatures in 25 years!) it will only be a wee bit warmer than it is here. This weekend they’re expecting lows in the 20s. It’s a bummer but I’m trying to look on the bright side. Like… um, I won’t need to splurge on a pedicure or deal with all that sand in the car… or worry about slathering the kids up with sunblock every few hours.
On the day we return it’s going to be in the 70s and beautiful. Which makes me so glad for all the wonderful people who will be arriving at the airport on that day. I’ll hear them say things like, Good thing we didn’t come last week or Wow, we arrived at the perfect time. And I’ll try really hard to be happy for them as I’m wearing my wool coat that I couldn’t fit into my carry on.
*I’ll be back to regular posting upon my return. This week I’m unplugging as I plan to spend quality time with family and catch up on my reading while lounging by the pool sitting in front of the fire.
