Neal Creek Retreat in Hood River

When our friends Jim and Carrie invited our family to spend a weekend with them at the Neal Creek house we readily took them up on the offer to stay at the modern and sustainable “cabin.”

It felt like staying in a tree house…

 
 

The two older boys loved their cozy sleeping bunks located in the hallway, perfect for reading books and snuggling:

Located minutes from Hood River meant mornings spent at the coffeehouse and hide-n-seek and freeze tag along the Twin Tunnel trail of the old Columbia Highway. Fortunately we experienced frequent spells of sunshine (and rainbows!) sprinkled throughout the weekend when the rain took a break:
