We spent a hot and humid week in our nation’s capital where Jason attended a conference for work (I’ve never appreciated AC so much in my life.)
His schedule was light and a handful of the events were kid-friendly so we managed to fit in quite a bit (I was dreading being stuck in the hotel tied to nap schedules and grumpy kids). I found it’s nearly impossible to keep kids on any type of schedule on vacation so they took naps in the Ergo and stroller and for the most part it all worked out. Thanks to my mom’s good friend Karen who lives in Alexandria, Jason and I were even able to attend one of the evening events on our own while she watched the kids.
One of the dinners was held at the Smithsonian American History Museum where Carson favored the toy exhibit:
Took the water taxi to old town Alexandria for an afternoon of sightseeing, shopping and ice cream consumption:
The last day we spent at the National History Museum, Air & Space Museum, followed by a picnic near the National Monument before getting caught in a downpour. We spent a half hour under a cedar with a handful of others from California and Ohio all getting wet before deciding to hail a cab back to the hotel:
It was a fun trip, wasn't it? (by the way, just found out, my hand is broken)
