Last fall we installed an inexpensive coat rack from IKEA in the kitchen for Carson to hang his coat on. Unfortunately the short depth of the knobs prevented any coats from staying put (okay, it might have been intended as a key rack but I thought it would work). So the hang up your coat reminder started to seem pointless when I couldn’t even get his coat to stay put.
I jumped on etsy a couple weeks ago searching for coat racks and stumbled upon a company that screen prints unique, nature-inspired designs to create beautiful home (and personal) accessories. I was really drawn to one piece in particular and decided to think it over. When I learned they were Portland based I knew I had to pop in their studio. I stopped by over the weekend and met Richard, one of the three designers that make up the crosbie.
The piece was even more delightful in person. All bursting with whimsy and fun. Perfect colors. The hooks are welded steel and made by hand.
Jason hung it yesterday and it’s just so pretty I wish I could hang my coat on it too. I see this piece eventually migrating to our room in a few years to display necklaces and scarves.
Stop by their studio in NoPo if you’re local or check out their website and etsy shop. They’re also regulars at Last Thursday.
