I attended a Naked Lady party last week at the coast. If you’re not familiar with the concept, you get a group of girls together, bring along your gently used clothing that for whatever reason you no longer wear, and spend an evening swapping clothes and accessories, drinking wine and hanging out. I’ve attended a handful of these events and at the majority of them everyone just dumped their clothes out of a grocery bag into a pile for others to rummage through.
At this one the host set up her home like a chic boutique, clothes were organized by rack according to style, and everyone brought their articles wrinkle-free and hung on hangers. And the selection was amazing. It helped that many of the other girls were around my same size and had similar style. I walked away with about 10-12 pieces of clothing that are now staples in my spring/summer wardrobe. All for free. Among my favorite new finds:
I love the recycling/frugal component of this exchange. Easier than trying to consign old clothes, and less guilt-ridden than giving to Goodwill (where a large percentage of the clothing never gets sold — does it go in a landfill?)
That sounds fun! Your new clothes look great! I have that same J. Crew skirt/dress and love it.
Super cute new-to-you clothes! I give & receive a lot of pieces on my local Freecycle, and often find new favorites that way. It's nice to get something you probably wouldn't even try on at a store, and then it's adorable on you 🙂
Looking GOOD. It was such a treat for me to have you and Joanna there. The time was too short and left me wanting to spend more time with the two of you.
