We decided to stay around town for the long weekend – going to parties, bbqs and working on house projects.
Carson attended his first little person B-Day Party. Will and Sam turned the big 3. It was a low key celebration at a local park involving lots of bubble blowing which I thought was perfect. After loading up on ice cream cake and experiencing a serious sugar high, we headed north and dropped Carson off at Gaga and Papas for an overnight to crash.
Jason and I had a “date night” and went out to a movie which we hadn’t done since…I can’t remember. We watched the teen flick Superbad. It had its moments, but since I’m not a 17 year old boy I guess I wasn’t exactly their target audience. It was no Dazed and Confused.
We spent the better part of Labor Day demolishing our basement. After years of talking about it we’re finally taking action and finishing the space. It’s now one big open area aside from the ginormous octopus furnace soon to be replaced. Hopefully by Thanksgiving I’ll be working in a finished studio and Carson will have an adjacent playroom (aka den, guest bedroom) to house the unavoidable toy sprawl that cannot be contained.
what sweet pictures! sounds like a perfect weekend. i wish we could have seen you since we were in portland for a few hours. 🙁
can’t wait to see your new basement project at christmas time!
