Living in our house the past eight years without a separate dining room has been challenging. In our newlywed early years it became crowded whenever we had more than two people over for dinner, but now with kids it’s close quarters whenever anyone comes for a meal. We’ll pull out our IKEA kids table, a couple of high chairs strewn in the middle of the kitchen, and our 4-top becomes the “adult table.” It’s a cozy chaotic affair.
Our friend Dan recently designed these beautiful built-in benches that allow for much more seating. They turned out better than I had envisioned and the best part is they open up to keep our recycling and shoes hidden from view.
wow amy! that looks great…you guys are going to make it very hard to leave your little house.
Totally brilliant. I love it when people do this with those tiny corners. Looks lovely.
Freakin' awesome!
