I’m not sure why I haven’t posted more photos of our house. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been too preoccupied fixating on removing the metal blinds covering nearly every window. This move has taught me confirmed I’m not a very patient person when it comes to house projects. All in due time, I keep reminding myself. Learn to enjoy the process.
With the chandelier arriving this week and pictures hung on the walls, I thought a before/after post of the dining room was in order.
This photo was taken the morning after we received the keys. I had already scaled the buffet to take down the brown velour valances from the windows. Hadley didn’t quite share my enthusiasm in painting the two front rooms before the furniture arrived:

We’d been scouting dining room tables all summer. One of the challenges was finding a table that complemented the extensive woodwork throughout the house. We ended up finding a modern walnut table from Room & Board with built-in leaves to seat up to 10 people. Perfect for dinner parties and Thanksgiving.
And after much deliberation, we decided to go with a bubble light above the table and we’re really happy with the diffused light. But realizing it could really use a dimmer switch installed. Add it to the list π
very cool – can't wait to check out.
Just beautiful….as I knew it would be. π Looks so classy and oh so homey!! Can't wait for Jason's yummy barbeque and us all sitting around the table enjoying the kids and great company. π
Gorgeous! Can't wait to see the rest of the house!
Looking good. You guys need something nice to complement all of the wonderful cooking you do:)
