Couldn’t wait to get my boys out the door. Miss Hadley spent the night at Gaga and Papa’s. The house all to myself. A full day ahead. The party was about to start. Complete with favors. And a playlist. Overnight guests arrive tomorrow. The house in need of a serious scrubbing. Not just a quick spruce up, a cleaning frenzy. Hours of cleaning. Favorite tunes. Alone with my thoughts and uninterrupted.
Found a few treasures along the way. Sunglasses behind the microwave. A favorite earring I had already come to terms with losing.
By early afternoon the party wrapped up. Clean house, clear mind, ideas flowing. Sat down to work. At my nice clean desk. Focused. Ideas spilled out. Designs came together. Super productive quality time. As if I had worked a ten hour day.
Time to pick up the kids. Happy.
In a few days the clean scent will fade, muddy paw prints will sprinkle the floor, tables will be smeared with toddler goobers and clutter will collect. I’ll feel behind with work. But for one afternoon it happened. Work and home in perfect order.
Your room/home looks fantastic. And Mrs. Meyers for favors? Genius!
Ahhhh I wish I could get our house this clean…I miss that feeling.
I’m a work-from-home, too! You gotta love the opportunities for impromptu cleaning in between projects. 🙂 Looks great!
Beautiful! Have a glorious Easter weekend!
Enjoy your clean house! We’re living among boxes and clutter and I can’t wait to move in to our new place and start fresh! p.s. We need to talk about the FNL finale! What a sob fest. I was thinking of you during the scene when Tyra went sprinting out to Landry’s car with the letter. Chills.
Oh Wafer—
I remember your cleaning frenzys in college. You and Bren would let the dorm room get to the point of no return, then in a single afternoon we could see the floor again:)
