We kicked off this sunny May Day early, delivering 21 May Day baskets to the block at 7am. Carson and Hadley had so much fun loading up the wagon with flowers {and lollipops for the kids} and sneaking up to each doorstep to hang the baskets.
We made paper cones using their school artwork. Carson cut out each one himself {he’s so ready for kindergarten}.
We tied on ribbons and attached a festive tag:
Super secret mission a success {aside from getting caught at one house}
It was an ideal May Day. After months of rain and gray clouds the sun broke through with blue skies and temperatures near 70. We spent the day outside along with most of the neighborhood picnicking, visiting and planting our garden.
Happy May Day! How did you celebrate?
so cute, wish you lived in my hood. awesome.
Amy…
You are amazing! I remember when we made May Day baskets in the neighborhoods in which you grew up! I'm so thankful you are carrying on that tradition! What fun for Carson and Hadley and for your neighborhood! 21 baskets!! You've come a long way, baby!! They are beautiful!! Happy May!! Love, Mom
I was just telling Kyle about doing that when I was little! I think it's a midwest tradition because I've never heard of anyone (besides you!) in the NW or on the east coast doing it! It's an awesome tradition. 🙂
