A Gingerbread House Kit! Just What I Always Wanted

December 17, 2008 by dailygnome 2 Comments

Despite my best intentions to build a gingerbread house from scratch, in a weak moment I purchased a kit. It just looked so pretty and perfect and so much easier as I stood in the checkout line at Target. Then last weekend I needed a white elephant gift for a party and didn’t have time to run to the store. So I wrapped it up with a big red bow.

But as fate would have it, and as these gift exchanges go (especially one mixed with a random assortment of gifts and holiday libations), there was a lot of gift snatching. I started with a Starbucks gift card (yay!) but that promptly got taken out of my hands in exchange for a bottle of tequila. In the end the last person to go snatched up my festive bowler hat and handed me his discarded gift. My gingerbread house kit! And there was nothing I could do about it. Except take it home and try to build the best dang gingerbread house on the block.

I was at Target the other day and saw this kit – and of course thought of you! 🙂
