‘Tis the Season

December 1, 2008 by dailygnome 1 Comment

I’ve never been so excited for Christmas as I am this year. This weekend we went on our annual tree cutting excursion out to Helvetia. Tonight we trimmed the tree and hung the stockings by the chimney with care. Can hardly wait for the cookie baking to begin, parties to attend and concerts and events to start happening. My holiday mix on iTunes is cued up and on permanent rotation.

A few years ago (I don’t recall exactly whose brilliant idea it was), we began drawing names on both sides of the family. No more hustle and bustle with shopping and sales. Just thoughtful gifts for select family members, a few handmade creations for friends, and Jason and I are exchanging stocking presents. Less focus on gifts means more time to sit back and relish this magical time of year.

I feel the same way – I haven’t been this excited for Christmas in years! Usually I can’t stand hearing xmas music before the 15th but I’ve been listening to it for weeks already! Great pictures from Helvetia – can’t WAIT to see you guys! xoxoxoxooxox
