After celebrating Father’s Day last June Carson started inquiring why there wasn’t a Brother’s Day. And for that matter, “A Sister’s Day!” piped in Hads. So this January 1st we pulled out the calendar and declared there will be both a Brother’s Day and Sister’s Day in 2013. Only requirement was that it fall on a Saturday or Sunday.
Carson, seeking instant gratification chose the first Saturday of the year. So last Saturday we celebrated our first annual Brother’s Day. On tap:
Donut run for breakfast (with hot chocolate)
A small present from each family member
Biking at The Lumberyard
Sushi for lunch
Afternoon matinee at Kennedy School
The day wrapped up with a visit from Uncle Nate, Uncle E and Calvin for an evening of football watching and Mexican food. Looking forward to this annual tradition.
HAPPY BROTHER’S DAY!
I totally love this! What a great way to include more celebrations into life…always a good thing!
Wow – what a great idea. you definitely did it up right for Carson!
So cool. I love that the kids can participate in your family in this way with their own ideas. Helps me look forward to the days when my girls can be like this.
Fantastic idea and perfect agenda for a very special day!
