Sunshine On My Shoulders

April 6, 2009 by dailygnome 1 Comment

Temperatures in the 70s yesterday. I cut this forsythia from our front porch (did it bloom overnight?) smiling at the neighborhood. Watched all the people out and about. Everyone seemed happy. Went for a run wearing a tank top. Dug my hands in a bit of earth. Felt the sun on my back. No doubt April will tease us with showers and cold but for one day we had a taste of what’s around the corner. Summer. Sunshine. Running barefoot. Entire afternoons spent outside. Can hardly wait.

I had a similar, blissful weekend. Your photo is lovely. I don’t have forsythia in my yard, but I keep plotting a midnight run to steal from from the neighbor’s yard.
