Earlier this year I purchased this book and have been trying to be diligent writing down the daily one-liners of an insightful four year old. A sampling:
11.15.10
This short bread was good, but next time can we try the long bread?
11.2.10
Mom, you’re inside now. We have a roof on our house. Take your hat off. You won’t get wet.
6.3.10
So Hadley and I have been talking, and we’ve decided it’s a smoothie kind of morning.
8.22.10
Look! The trees are snuggling the river. And the trees, they’re snuggling the whole city!
10.5.10
My heart is broken. Mom, you’re breaking my heart! {after I failed to retrieve one of his blow kisses off the ground}
5.17.10
I’ll set a good example for Hadley, then Hadley can set a good example for the babies. But first, we need to get another baby.
6.10.10
While making cookies and catching Carson eating dough:
Me: I’m watching you kiddo.
C: You know you can stop watching me, mama. Just turn your head.
I've started trying to write down the cute things Nathan says after I worked at a client's house who had diligently written down the things her boys had said over the year. I thought it was a great idea! My plan is to incorporate the sayings in the annual photo album — memorable pictures with memorable words.
Again, I can't stop smiling. That's the perk of being a grandma. Thanks for sharing the moments. What is amazing is that when Carson's wife asks you about him as a little boy you'll have specific, hard evidence. 🙂 Very special.
