I was lying in bed reading a magazine article about happiness. The author is writing a book entitled The Happiness Project. I started reading her blog and became inspired. Then I went to bed. On with my life because I had to be up in probably three hours to nurse Hadley and had a whole bunch of things to do the next day.
You read these articles, think “how true,” then go back to living your life. I woke up the next morning and nagged Jason for not taking out the garbage then scrambled to get Carson’s lunch together and start my day.
Tonight I’m clicking the pause button and listing off everything I’m thankful for. The little things; and some big ones, too. Right now. In the moment. Because I think there is a direct correlation between being grateful for what you already have and your own happiness. Sometimes you just need to be reminded of what those things are. I set the lofty goal at 100 but once I got started I realized it wasn’t that lofty after all. I’m blessed. I’m thankful for:
