Derby Days

August 19, 2008 by dailygnome Leave a Comment

We attended the Portland Soapbox Derby at Mt. Tabor Park on Saturday. When we were pitching the event to Carson on the drive over I think he was expecting actual race cars. So when a banana split, picnic table and the town of Whoville barreled down the mountain he asked where the cars were. There were a few entrants resembling traditional soapbox cars but watching a picnic table try to reach top speed was far more entertaining.
