SFD Recap

June 22, 2011 by dailygnome 1 Comment

Sometimes I wish there were more hours in the day. For catching up. With friends. Across the street, across town or even via facebook. Doing stuff other than work. It’s been one of those weeks. My BFF is my iMac.  I’ve been working on some interesting and very rewarding projects {and I think I have some of the best clients in the world}. I just wish I had an extra eight hours for the other things I enjoy. Like blogging. Reading. Running. Chatting over espresso. Reminiscing over a bottle of red. Gardening. Snuggling my babes for hours. Sewing projects. Shopping etsy. Watching the backlog on my DVR. Browsing Real Simple. Although I did skim the mag during a bout of insomnia last night and discovered the White Noise Light App. Slept like a baby from 2-6am.

Some PDX clients I’ve had the privilege of designing sites for recently:

Acupuncture Northwest | Portland, Oregon:

Grapehead Wine | Finnigan Hill

Blooming Moon Wellness Spa & Bathhouse | NE Portland Spa:

Alameda Playschool, A Northeast Portland Preschool:

Transitions Professional Center | Portland Waterfront:

Site Launch: Bella Via | a boutique event venue

February 1, 2011 by dailygnome Leave a Comment

I love the idea of taking an old building rich in history (but in dire need of repair) and breathing new life into it. When Nicole contacted me last fall and told me about her plans to renovate an old church in historic Old Town Sherwood for a boutique event venue I was excited to design the site. Originally built in 1912, the venue is due to open its doors this March and the site launched a few days ago.

Jonathan from Atlier Pictures took the stunning detail shots for the home page, but you can view the progress of the renovations on the Bella Via Facebook Page. Bella Via is an ideal site for weddings, corporate events and private parties. And sweet Nicole had such kind words to say of her experience working with SimplyFine:

“I love my site –  it is exactly what I wanted.  Amy listened to my ideas and created my vision while offering up creative ideas along the way to only further enhance my website.  She has been so easy to work with and taught me a lot along the way.  I have been so pleased with the quickness of her response to my questions and needs and willingness to help.  I’d recommend her to anyone in need of a print or web designer!”

Craigmore Creations: Educating through Entertainment

October 7, 2010 by dailygnome 1 Comment

When Craigmore Creations contacted me this summer about designing a site for their production house I was really excited to be on board. This creative trio creates amazing graphic novels for kids that blend art, education, nature and fun. Their latest creation, Terra Tempo: Ice Age Cataclysm! unlocks the secret of time travel and the great Missoula Floods, when giant mammoths and saber-toothed cats roamed the Pacific Northwest.

They were kind enough to provide me an early release copy and I’m amazed at their talents and story telling. They’ll be a part of wordstock in Portland this weekend, so if you’re planning to attend, stop by and see them in the Children’s area!

Site Launch: Champagne Ball

October 15, 2009 by dailygnome 1 Comment

This past New Year’s Eve, we barely stayed up late enough to watch the clock strike midnight. In recent years we’ve spent the evening with a handful of friends quietly sipping wine and wrangling kids up way past their bedtime.

By partnering with A Swank Affair to design the site for the 19th Annual Champagne Ball I caught a glimpse of how partying twenty somethings (and beyond) ring in the New Year in downtown Portland.

I have a vague memory of when I had the energy to bust a move and party like it’s 1999. If I were attending I’d pull out my best old school dance moves.
