Photo of the Week: Carson baked his first batch of cookies this week with the help of Gaga. The measuring and mixing was fun but the eating was his favorite part. Especially since Gaga always allows him just one more.
Waffle Window
Photo of the Week: We spent yesterday morning at one of our favorite breakfast spots located on the outside wall of the Bread & Ink Café in Hawthorne. We usually order one savory (pepper bacon, brie and basil), one sweet (seasonal topped with a sliver of pumpkin custard) and Carson gets his own portable version. Now that the weather has turned cool, the café opens its doors so Waffle patrons can stay toasty warm indoors. Because it’s no fun eating waffles when you’re shivering.
Home Again
Photo of the Week: Jason returned from NYC late last night so today we had a “home” day. He made a lunch of acorn squash and fried eight-ball zucchini picked up at the fruit stand down the street. Although the grandparents were a huge help this week, taking care of both kids on my own proved exhausting. It’s good to have him home – I really missed him.
Off The Vine
Photo of the Week: Our backyard vines are laden with grapes. One more week until harvest time. We probably have enough to make sweet grape jam or perhaps a bottle or two of wine. But that won’t likely happen. They will be picked off the vine in bunches the day they’re ready and eaten immediately. I can’t wait.
