Another year of firsts. Carson kicked off second grade with a bang and never looked back. Hadley followed a couple days later, off to kindergarten with Bunny in hand. In the hustle and bustle of the morning I forgot to take her first day photo. So I captured the post-first day happy shuffle in the kitchen that afternoon.
Mother’s Day Momentos
My sweet tokens of affection for Mother’s Day. I felt very special and well celebrated.
Carson created this mixed media piece at school using watercolors, pencil and ink pad {his fingerprints!}. Promptly framed and hung.
Hadley’s letter to me, dictated by her teachers {referring to the bootie shaking, by We she means her}.
May Day Deliveries
We set the alarm extra early in order to drop off our May Day treats {via wagon} on our neighbors’ doorsteps before they came out.
Kids measured and filled the jars the night before with colorful beans.
Super sneaky and fast – we finished our entire block and were at the coffeehouse before 7am.
Rain Free Weekend in Portland
It doesn’t happen often in early March but when it does we Portlanders take full advantage of putting house projects and commitments on hold to venture outdoors. And it couldn’t have landed on a more perfect weekend as Julie, Aaron and cousins were up from LA:
Our neighbors had a garage sale and Hadley emptied her piggy bank to score a family of trolls:
Leisurely afternoon spent on the stoop, catching up with neighbors {in the sun!}:
Frolicking in the yard, catching the pigskin {and flying trolls!}:
Backyard picnic with friends!
And of course, a trip to the park:
