Since Carson lives and breathes all things Mary Poppins these days it was a given what his birthday theme would be this year. And I must admit, it was a ton of fun planning this party. As always, I had my support team (Jason headed up the catering committee, cupcake decorating and outdoor decor detail). We’ve had a soggy May in Portland, but amazingly the clouds broke long enough and we all stayed dry. And thanks to the fire pit and outdoor heaters we were toasty with temperatures in the low 50s.
The car race was such a hit last year I wanted to plan another interactive game. I put together a “Jolly Holiday” and the kids traveled through various scenes from the movie collecting special treats along the way including harmonicas, whistle birds and of course, toppins tuppence (oops)! Everyone was a very good sport (considering I assigned many of the roles upon arrival).
What a treat! I love your creativity…

Wow, this looks like a great party. And I absolutely love the theme…wish I would have thought of that when my daughter was younger!
What a lucky Carson! Awesome work, Amy. I love the hats — perfect Mary Poppins.
